On Spring mornings, the dew is heavy on the cabbage and it entice you with its sparkle. Hot summer days bring the slight smell of sweet corn from across the field, and in the Fall the rustle of leaves will lead you to our pumpkins and gourds. We have an experience for every season. We have been breeding alpacas since 2009 and maintain a herd of ARI registered huacaya alpacas. Our aim at Gates Alpaca Ranch is to breed high quality alpacas from proven bloodlines. Our focus is on breeding alpacas with superior fiber and excellent conformation. To produce high quality alpacas, a very selective breeding program is necessary. To increase fiber value, we breed for lingering fineness, density, and staple length. With each breeding, we carefully match each female to the best quality male to produce alpacas of outstanding quality. We have just started participating in shows this year to assists us in breeding decisions and our success in the show ring has increased. Every animal we offer for sale is an important part of our breeding program. Selecting these animals is not easy, but by selecting such high quality animals, we are giving the buyers an excellent opportunity to share in some of our success! We also provide assistance with ranch facilities, design and layout, guidance in handling, nutrition & feeding, along with preventative medical care of the alpacas. If you need a place to board your alpacas for short term or long term, we can help you out. All alpacas are sold with full health and reproductive guarantees. Reproductive guarantees do not apply to fiber alpacas. If you see a special alpaca you like, please let us know and we can provide you with additional information, photos and pricing. Whether you are a first time buyer looking for a starter package, or an experienced alpaca breeder looking to diversify your existing herd, we have alpacas available to suit your needs and budgets.
